Maryland Unemployment Application

If you are looking for unemployment benefits in Maryland, it is easy to find out if you are eligible.  You must be unemployed through no fault of your own, and you must be able, available, and actively seeking work.  You do not need to have financial assets in place in order to apply, and you can file your application either at a claims office or online.  If you qualify for benefits, you can receive a weekly income as long as you continue to file biweekly claims and continue searching for work.

In Maryland, if you meet the income requirements, you may be eligible for a minimum of $25 per week up to as much as $380 per week (the maximum allowed by the state).  Your weekly benefits will be determined by your salary and earnings in your previous job.  You are eligible for up to 26 weeks per year of weekly benefits.  Plus, you may be eligible for an additional $8 per week for every dependent living in your home (up to five children who must be 16 years old or younger).  In Maryland, the total benefits you may receive even with the addition of dependents is still no more than $380 per week.  If you have been disqualified from receiving benefits, you are allowed 15 days to appeal the decision.
